QUANTITATIVE REASONING · SECTION-WIDE MIXED RETRIEVAL

Mix the method.
Protect the clock.

Remove the chapter cue without pretending this is a completion form. Every circuit freezes coverage before it shuffles questions and answer positions, then reveals a calculator decision after the attempt.

COVERAGE BEFORE RANDOMNESS

Ten leaves for breadth.
Eighteen objectives for depth.

The leaf circuit selects one item from each displayed ADA scope line. The objective sweep selects one item from every frozen DAT TRAIN study objective. Selection happens before question and five-choice option shuffling, so a new seed changes the records without dropping promised coverage.

These are instructional balances, not estimates of live-test frequency. The official 30 mathematical / 10 applied split belongs to the later completion-form construction; the ADA does not publish quotas for the nine displayed Mathematical Problems leaves.

CALCULATOR DECISION LADDER

Model first. Key only when it earns time.

Each of the forty source items has one version-bound annotation: decision, reason, model, estimate, calculator action, and audit. The annotation appears after the learner commits an answer.

  1. 01

    Skip the calculator

Use structure, bounds, sign, symmetry, or short exact arithmetic when keying would add steps without reducing risk.

  2. 02

    Calculator optional

Build the model and estimate first. Key only the final product or quotient when a confirmation is worth the transition time.

  3. 03

    Use after modeling

Delegate a burdensome weighted or decimal calculation only after the relationship, denominator, and units are stable.

OPEN-CLOCK PACE LEDGER

Read the average as a budget—not a buzzer.

The 45-minute section divided by 40 questions gives 67.5 seconds per item. That arithmetic is a planning reference, not an official per-question limit. This route keeps a visible elapsed clock and stops each item’s decision clock when the answer is checked; explanation time remains outside that item measure.

SECTION-WIDE RETRIEVAL

Choose breadth or objective depth.

Both modes give immediate explanations, record visible-item decision time, and save unfinished state only on this device. Results guide review and do not predict a DAT score.

40 VALIDATED DRAFTS · 10 LEAVES · 18 OBJECTIVES

Switch the method. Protect the clock.

Both modes preserve their promised coverage first, then shuffle selected questions and all five answer choices. Calculator guidance appears only after each answer is checked.

SOURCES AND LIMITS

Official scope. Independently authored practice.

The section count, time, calculator availability, and 30/10 split come from the DAT User’s Manual ↗ and the 2026 Candidate Guide ↗.

DAT TRAIN questions and explanations are original, draft, uncalibrated, and not copied from the DAT. The completion form is available and this learner route is open as a public beta; independent human, device, and pilot evidence remains open.
